TV Series: Dominion (2014)

D ominion is a 90 minute Action/Fantasy series that just showed it's last episodes of season two some days ago.
Most of the reviews of this series is terrible, not bad but just simply horrible and mean. I'm not saying it's the greatest series out there but if you LOVE fantasy and angels than this is a series for you. Just you can see through the bad acting and writing everyone talks about and take the good message in.

In Resume: Dominion takes place in an post-apothalytic future where an army of lower angels possess mankind assembled by the archangel Gabriel. The archangel Michel takes the side of mankind and tries to save a boy that is destined to save the world and relinquish the angels from the possessed.

Most of you will not like this series but I can say it's a 5/10 and that is a good series to have in background of something else. Also there are some crazy ideas thrown that I like to discuss with myself when I need a brake from what work I'm doing at the time ;)
If you start seeing the series you might recognise some actors from other series, like me =)

Maybe in a near future someone will make a more well written and elaborated series similar to this one, it's become fashion to recycle or make movies in to series so I do think there will be a better version of this series in the next years, in the mean time I will be seeing this one and I do think there is a third season coming.

Just A LITTLE EXTRA, why do these type of series continue and Hannibal - the series - has ended? At it's third season and with so much potential to continue at least for more two. I will be reviewing Hannibal soon!

TV Series: Girls (2012)

Girls is a 30 minute comedy drama about the experiences of a group of girls in their early 20s, the ups and downs of their lives as the obstacles come and bang on the door.  is the creator and also stars as Hannna. In the mix are her friends: Marnie (), Jessa () and Shoshanna ().

Girls was appointed to me by Chanelettehttps://www.youtube.com/user/Chanelette ) a youtuber that I love watching. She vlogs a lot among other beauty videos. I love all of her videos but the ones I love most are the decor hauls.

So I started watching Girls inspired by her and fell in love with the normality of it, how I can relate to the characters and the blunt way it's reproduced in the series.

From the first episodes you can see if you love it or hate it. It's small but precise. I would give it a 8/10. And I can say it's gotten better but the root is there it just spread a little bigger now =) Being a girl you can identify with any or all the characters and being a boy you can have some insight to what is a "girls life", of course it's a bit exaggerate but what girls is not a bit exaggerated =D

TV Series: The Originals

The Originals is a series about vampires but these are not ordinary vampires they are the first vampires or the first vampire family. The series revolves around Klaus () which is a hybrid - vampire and wolf - then their are other very important family members like Elijah () my favourite among the vampire family =) and the most loved brother of Klaus, there sister Rebekah () and there other two brothers Kol () and another. =) Klaus's mother is a witch and his "father" is a vampire hunter.

In Resume: "The original family" of vampires lived in the city of New Orleans where they lived happily. However, all has changed and it's up to them to take back what they built. And try to get that happy family all together again.

It's a very interesting series and it's mother was The Vampire Diaries but it does not match it, they are different the only thing they have in common is their love for family. It's quite interesting and I would give it a 8/10.

TV Series: The Vampire Diaries (2009)

The Vampire Diaries is a very well known series of vampires, werewolves and witches. The centre of the series is Elena () and the two vampire brothers Stefan () and Damon (). It involves these three in a web of love, betrayal and sacrifice mixed in with their friends Bonnie () - the witch that is always helping, Jeremy () Elena's brother, Caroline () - the friend that is always there, Matt () the ex, Tyler () - the werewolf, among others that enter and "abandon" leaving a trail of blood and suffering.

It's a quite intense series and if you are a girl you will certainly like it even if you don't like vampires because if you don't like Stefan you will love Damon (which is my case =D) and there are others very good too ;D

It's on it's 6th season so if you haven't seen it, what I doubt you should start now! =) They promise a 7th one and I do think hey have story for it.

The series is so good that it sprung a new series The Originals also a vampire series.

I will not bored you with more details of the series because if you see the first 4 episodes you will love it and be hooked or just hate it. I would give it a 9/10 but opinions do differ, my boyfriend wouldn't even give it a 5/10 =D

TV Series: 12 Monkeys

The 12 Monkeys is a series semi-based on the movie (same name) and it's a sci-fy and action series very elaborated. For those that haven't seen the movie...

Resume of the movie: The movie starred Bruce Willis as James Cole, a convicted criminal in a post-apocalyptic future where the Earth's population is forced to live underground after a deadly virus. In a bid to earn a pardon, Cole uses the imperfect science of time travel to help collect information on the virus released by the Army of the Twelve Monkeys.

Resume of the series: Cole (Aaron Stanford), Railly (Amanda Schull) race to stop the virus from being deployed as a bio-weapon and used to destroy human kind. They are trying to change the future but is that possible? And if it is will it become better?

This series, in my opinion, has a lot of space to grow in to a even greater series. It was based in one of the best movies of it's time and just that gives it a jump start.

I give this series a 10/10 because I just can't wait for the next episode and the next, and the next.... =D I recommend it to everybody, lovers or not of sci-fy series. And if you have not seen the movie also recommend. I've seen it again just because I missed it ;)

TV Series: Helix

Helix is a series about a disease outbreak in a high-tech facility in the Arctic, just out of the legal jurisdiction of prying noses, that ramps up the tension as a team from the Center for Disease Control arrives on the scene to help. What they find is something very bad and very weird.

Created and written by Cameron Porsandeh, Helix comes from a fine brain trust of executive producers: Ronald D. Moore (Battlestar Galactica), Lynda Obst (Contact) and Steven Maeda (Lost, The X-Files).  So, despite the ease with which many of these ambitious ideas go sideways, there's certainly faith in those behind the curtain to pull something off.

The story starts out in the Arctic but takes of and spreads it's wings to an island in the second season, which I'm loving. There are always hints that things are bigger than they appear, of course, and so Helix could move its environs and expand its world. And there will be twists that you were not expecting which makes the series very interesting and grips you to it.

There are a lot of other series like The Stain that have a similar base and then just gone bad =) But that is a topic for another day. I love seeing this and I would give it a 8/10.

TV Series: The 100

The 100 is a series about an earth that destroyed it self and 97 years after the nuclear war and spending this time in a decadent ship, they send 100 juvenile delinquents back to Earth in hopes of possibly re-populating the planet, but they are surprised...

As always it has a twist, this series is full of surprises and it always changes when your not expecting. I would say the cast of new actors are quite good and they have been increasingly getting better as the series comes a long.

The second season is even better than the first and there is even a slight resemblance to The Hunger Games arena with its varied terrain and mapped-out locations, almost to suggest there's someone controlling them all, we will see in the episodes/seasons to come =)

I'm loving this series and it's one of those I'm always waiting for the next episode anxiously so I do recommend it very passionately =D I would give it a 9/10.

TV Series: Black Sails (2014)

Black Sails is a series about pirates. If you like pirate movies you will like this series =) It's full of action and fighting. Most of the scenes are on a boat or of the sea but there is also some land diplomacy to attend to.

This ambitious pirate story is helped immensely by going beyond the pay cable freedoms that often bog down lesser shows in boobs, blood and sex. But of course it has all of that too ;D Black Sails steers itself out of that realm after a few episodes and makes a play for bigger, more complicated stories. Solid acting patches up weaker spots. A series worth a look.

Resume: It starts a little bit soft, you can't judge it from the first 4 episodes. More into the 6th episode it gets much better and in the last and beginning of the second season even more so. This new Michael Bay pirate series, set in 1715, during the "Golden Age of piracy." Here's a genre series that's got a lot of what you'd expect from Starz, gratuitous nudity, bloodshed and mayhem, but it also has a complicated story to spin.
Co-created and co-written by Jonathan E. Steinberg and Robert Levine, Black Sails tells the story of Capt. Flint (Toby Stephens), who runs the Walrus ship and is the most feared captain of all those docking in lawless New Providence Island. His crew includes the quartermaster, Gates (Mark Ryan), and first mate Billy Bones (Tom Hopper), who is next in line.

I'm watching this series second to Crossbones maybe that's why I just like Crossbones more, but my boyfriend says it's better and a bunch of US reviewers the same. It also has promises to continue as the third season is on it's way. I would say take a look at both and judge them your selves and then come here and leave me your opinion on it =)

I would give it a 7/10. It's a great series to see before going to bed =)

TV Series: Crossbones (2014)

Crossbones is a series based on a life of a pirate - Blackbeard. As you can already tell it's a pirates series =D and like all pirate series/movie you love it or hate it.

Most pirate stories are clichés because nobody is thinking about how to redefine them. They are only thinking about how to work within the parameters of swords, blood-thirsty men, remote islands and billowing cotton clothes. They are working in a swashbuckling genre when they ought to be fleeing from it, or turning it on its head. As you watch Crossbones, you might realise something. It looks like fun. It looks like a bunch of actors who like to play dress up and to be someone different than themselves, are having a wonderful time being pirates. The sets are kind of silly. The costumes are kind of silly. The acting is definitely silly. The sword play is like a kind of actor’s recess. You get the sense that Cross and a whole bunch of actors and production people are putting on a play with someone else’s money and having a grand old time of it. =D

By many reviewers in the US, Black Sails is a much better series than Crossbones but I beg the differ. I love Crossbones much more maybe because I saw it first or maybe because of John Malkovich =) Love his acting it's really unique. But just in case and if you like pirates movies take a view at the first 4-6 episodes of each series and leave me your opinion in the comments.

I'm seeing both and I'm loving them. I would give Crossbones a 8/10.

TV Series: True Detective (2014)

True Detective is a 55 minutes Crime, Drama, Mystery with  Matthew McConaughey.

In ResumeTrue Detective is about two detectives, one an old-school investigator, the other a book-smart profiler, brought together on a murder investigation with occult overtones and a strong whiff of serial killer sophistication. It's the kind of case Louisiana's Criminal Investigation Division hasn't seen before.

The story moves back and forth between 1995 and 2012, revealing bits of the case and personal bits of both Hart and Cohle keeps viewers hooked on each track, while the technique also provides a glimpse at how their relationship changed all the people around them over time.

True Detective has three immediately impressive attributes:

  1.  The acting by Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson is off the charts.
  2.  The writing, by series creator and novelist Nic Pizzolatto, undulates from effectively brash soliloquies to penetratingly nuanced moments carried by sparse prose.
  3.  Lastly, director Cary Fukunaga has created a beautiful, sprawling sense of place, the series is shot and set in Louisiana.

The series is an interesting swirl of detective work and relationship scenes that involves you not with the rapid movement of the scenes but the intensity every moment is lived.

It's and impressive series and I would recommend seeing it at night in relax mode. I would give it a 8/10.

Reality TV: Hell's Kitchen

I don't see a bunch of reality TV but Hell's Kitchen is just at the TOP of the TOP.

It's a 42 minutes Game-Show where selected cooks and house-cooks are competing against one another and also in group showing which is the best under pressure cook in the mix.

Gordon Ramsay is an amazing cook and I will eat, one day, food that he made =) (it's a dream and a honor) And in this show he inspires other cooks to be the best they can be at the same time as showing us what he expects from a restaurant of his.

I also see his channels on youtube:
     - Gordon Ramsay
     - The F Word

Which I also recommend seeing for great and fast recipes.

I recommend this series to every food lover and even reality TV lovers. If you aren't either give it a go too =D I give it a 10/10!!!

TV Series: Orphan Black

Orphan Black is a Sci-fy series about cloning, begins with two embryos being split into two before being split again... and again... and again. A simple concept, yet encompasses the theme of the clone drama. It already has two seasons and the third is on it's way.

In Resume: Season one started with our introduction to foul-mouthed, street-tough and punkish Sarah,  After a long absence, she returns to reclaim and be reunited with her young daughter, Kira. She witnesses the suicide of police detective Beth, who looked exactly like her so she decides to steal Beth’s identity not knowing she was a cop or that they were clones.
More through the series Sarah discovers where they all came from and who was trying to kill them, finding some other "sister clones" in the process.
The second season is all about a religious cult hell-bent on destroying the clones introducing a number of new enigmatic characters in to the mix.

For the viewers that don't like sci-fy series this is so well done that you can overlook the paranormal elements in the characters and it is written well enough that you aren't just constantly thinking, "She's a clone"; your thinking, "Oh, that's Cosima, who is completely different from Alison," etc. The makers proved in early stages that the series has a lot of substance than you might expect.

The series is fantastic as I Love Sci-fy series so I'm immediately a fan until proved wrong. For me this is a 9.7/10 because it has a bunch of action, the actress is quite good and love their wardrobe =D

TV Sereis: Downton Abbey

Downton Abbey is a 65 minute Dama-chronicle of the lives of the Crawley family beginning in the years leading up to World War I. It's a look at how the very wealthy, of a certain time, handled the annoyances of the real world that change comes very slowly around them.

Summery of the 1st through 4th season: Those that weren't shaken off by the dubious plotting of season two came back with joy and anticipation for season three (which was better).  They got through the marriage of the youngest sister to a worker. Her death and his integration in the family; Mr. Bates in jail; American relatives; financial crises and adapting to the new era; Mrs. Patmore in love; plus the marriage of Lady Mary and Matthew and all the Drama that came before... And much, much more than you can ever imagine.

Other reviewers say that many of the core Downton fans are not the type to read spoilers when the season airs in England first.

From the Dowager Countess to Lady Mary to Mr. Bates and his Anna, fans fall for the well-drawn, well-acted bunch and therefore put up with whatever trifles writer and creator Julian Fellowes dreams up for them. If you're a fan of twists than the season four is especially good for you.

If you're hoping the good folks from the village rise up with pitchforks and torches to burn Downton to the ground, you'll have to wait at least until the seventh season. =D

At the moment it's on season 5 and it's fantastic, I even think it got better. =) I love the series because of it's EVERYTHING!!! Love the story, the clothes/fashion, the hair and the crazy era. Love how we can see the different social classes.I'm very excited to see the Christmas episode, they are always very special and give a kick to see the next season. For me this series is a 9/10.

TV Series: Lost Girl

Lost Girl is a 60 minute Fantasy/Crime series. This series is idealy made for the loveres of wolfman, vampires and supernatural powers.

It's a kind of darivation from Buffy or Angel but a bit more modern and with more supernatural powers.

This is a story about Bo - a succubus - who feeds off sexual energy to survive. She's alone and doesn't undersand why this is happening but rapidly finds her more people with different abbilities and discoveres this whole different world. She refeuses to embrace their clan system and its rigid hierarchy. Bo is a renegade who takes up the fight for the underdog while searching for the truth about her own mysterious origins.

It has a big amount of Action and Romance scenes which makes it intersting and usualy I like to see more than one or two episodes in one day. I'm always curiouse to see what comes next or how that "mini story" is going to end.

Canadian producer Prodigy Pictures told The Hollywood Reporterthat Lost Girl will wrap internationally after its upcoming season, and Syfy confirmed the fifth season will be the last one stateside.

I would recomend this to all fantasy/action loveres and it's also a girly sereis because of the amount of LOVE =D I give it a 7.7/10 because it keeps me intressed.

Movie: Edge of Tomorrow

Edge of Tomorrow has all that I love in a movie: a bucket full of Action and a load of Sci-fi in the mix. Love time travelling related movies and theories.

Edge of Tomorrow plays out a familiar alien invasion apocalypse drama in a way that, through repetition, allows humanity to learn from its mistakes.

It's a 113 minute movie that was based on a well-regarded novel by Hiroshi Sakurazaka, the clever script by Christopher McQuarrie, Jez and John-Henry Butterworth not only plays with time and the way technology could be used to upgrade human capabilities, but takes a relatively playful attitude toward the familiar battle tropes.

I do not know if any of you guys saw the movie: Groundhog Day, I loved that movieEdge of Tomorrow is like Groundhog Day but with Aliens and Pain =D

I give this movie a 10/10 but boyfriend would say it's a 8/10 so opinions my vary weather you like the combo (Action + Sci-fy) or not.

TV Series: Elementary

Elementary is a Sherlock series. It's not as good as the series: Sherlock but it's a good Crime series. It's already on a second season and a third is coming =)

It has a lot of neat tricks and tips for you to notice better what surrounds you and also you can "learn" how to read a scene (not really but almost =D).

It is very repetitive like any CSI but it also has a little romance in the mix.

Sherlock is sent to New York by his father after falling out of favour as a consultant for Scotland Yard and also needing a stint in rehab. This Sherlock story has a twist: Watson is Female =D

I'm loving the series but I do think it should have more action so that I would be stuck to the monitor. That's why I'm just giving it a 6.4/10.
For me a series that has a lot of action and makes me want to see 3 or more episodes at once makes the 7 mark, if it doesn't get me stuck to it... sorry but I cant give it more.

TV Series: The Last Ship

The Last Ship is about a Navy ship that has managed to avoid the worldwide pandemic that killed about 80 percent of the world's population. The crew's task now is to find a cure, stay alive and shield their eyes from shrapnel when things blow up, because lots of things blow up =D

The series consists of about 60 minutes and also has a little Suspense and Drama in the mix but it's mostly and Action series with the well known MC Steamy from Grey's Anatomy =) That is one reason there to watch the series!!!

My boyfriend is loving this series, I have a slightly different opinion: it is a series that is based on it's Action without things blowing up and shooting some targets it would have short bones, but I think it's getting better because not everything is on a ship (later on the season) =) I have seen a bunch of space ship series where all the action and most of the series are on a space ship but I couldn't support more episodes of them on the U.S Navy Ship. I do think that is my Sci-Fi lovin' part.

It already has a second season thought out for 2015.

This is mostly directed to the guys out there, but I would recommend to all Action lovers. I would give it a 6.8/10.

TV Series: Extant

Extant is a futuristic Sci-fi/Thriller about a astronaut which after being in space for about a year, comes home and now is trying to reconnect with her family. She experienced a set of events at space that ultimately change the course of human history.

It has a duration of 45 minutes but it involves you so much that it seems less. It's a very vague series and has a lot that it can work with.

My boyfriend said that it started good and now it's slowing down. My opinion is a bit different because I thing it started captivating us with the alien part and branched out to be a totally different thing. I'm very curious to see more and if it is going to grow in a good direction or not. Most of the series that have a lot of different ways to vary, chose the wrong path... in my opinion.

It's great to have this kind of series out in the Summer because most of the series are "paused" and we have space to see one more =D

I recommend this series to everyone... I already recommended it to some of my close friends =D And they are loving it. I would give it a 9/10.

I love me some robots, always!!!

TV Series: Witches of East End

Witches of East End is based on a best-selling book.

It is mostly a Fantasy series enthralled with romance that involve all the characters... and make them do crazy things for love =)

It's 60 minutes of craziness between Mother and the two Daughters that keep a bunch of secrets between each other, and of course that leads to a web of problematic situations.

This is a lady's series but I do invite guys to see it because of the actresses which are very attractive and good for the eyes =D Of course there are great guys in it too, but we're watching for the romance.

It's not the best witch series out there but I would put it in the top 5. I don't think I'm the only one thinking that because it's already on the second season.

I would give it a 7.7 out of 10 but I love all Fantasy and Syfy series ;)

TV Series: Reign

Reign is a great "Historical" series. It's about Mary - Queen of Scots - and the story starts when she arrives in France with 15 years of age, betrothed to Prince Francis.

It's a 42 minutes Fantasy/Drama that will envolve you with their dressing and sceneries. I love these type of series for the artistic value: the clothes, sceneries and how they use their hair ... What it was like in that time. That, for me, is the best part but this series is also very well written and produced.

I haven't seen all of the first season yet but I hope to reach the end this month =) It's very addicting but at the moment I don't have a lot of time =(

The little history that I know from France and King Francis makes this series even more interesting to watch. From what I remember they will get married and Francis dies very young.

I do not know how much it will be alike to the history books but I'm loving it till now =D

I recommend to all lovers of art and costumes.
